You have bought your balloon voucher to take a trip of a lifetime and do what you have always wanted to do and that is take a hot air balloon ride, but how should you prepare? There are a number of basic things that should be on your list before you embark on your hot air balloon flight, perhaps one of the most important is to visit the toilet, we don’t have facilities for this important event on our hot air balloons and we do not envisage them either!
The clothing that you will wear will depend upon the time of year that you are taking your hot air balloon flight. Basically it will be good outdoor clothing, warm in the winter of course and we would suggest that even on a nice summer day you refrain from wearing shorts or skirts and avoid synthetic fibres. Strong walking boots are recommended, or even wellingtons as the field on landing could be muddy. Come prepared and enjoy your hot air balloon trip.

A Swiss man has failed in his attempt to become the first person to fly solo across the Strait of Gibraltar using a single jet-propelled wing. Yves Rossy, known as Jetman, ditched in the water and was rescued minutes after setting off from above Morocco. Organisers said he had deployed his parachute after the wing malfunctioned, possibly owing to engine failure. Rossy became the first person to cross the Channel using a jet-powered wing in September 2008.
If you want to fly in complete safety and not reach earth by parachute, there is a much better way of doing this, arrange to fly in a Hot air Balloon from a locality that is close to you and at a time of that is convenient to you. Of course because hot air ballooning is weather dependant, no guarantee can be given as to the exact date, but it will be one that is convenient to you, call 0845 071 6388 now.

There are no strict age limits to you becoming a passenger during a hot air balloon flight, either upwards or downwards so to speak. Naturally there has to be some limitation regarding very small children, but if they can stand and walk unaided and are fully fit, why not treat them to a hot air balloon ride, with a parent or grandparent of course.
For adults age is no problem, you are as old as you feel and if you are a fit and healthy septuagenarian, or octogenarian for that matter, nothing will stop you from having the thrill of a lifetime. At Balloons over Britain you are looked after from the moment that you arrive at the launch site, which will of course be local to where you want to fly, to the time when you are taken back to meet up with your family and friends and tell them about your balloon ride. Contact us and we will take care of everything.

Some passengers taking a hot air balloon flight had a good laugh when the pilot said “I am lost” (it never happens by the way) but by luck a man was walking in the field below. “Excuse me” said the pilot “can you tell me where I am”. “Sure” replied the man “you are in a hot air balloon 30 feet above me”! “Ok wise guy I’ll bet you work in I.T.” “Yes but how did you know”? “Well what you have said is correct in detail but it’s no use to anyone”! “For a tenner I can bet you are in management” “I am so how do you know”? “Well” said wise guy, “you don’t know where you are, or where you’re going, but you expect me to be able to help, exactly the same position as before we met, but now it’s all my fault”!
If you would like to take a Hot Air Balloon ride with or without jokes, we can guarantee the pilot will know where he is, so contact us on 0845 071 6388 for details of our exciting Christmas and new year offers.
