What about your own balloon?

How many times have you looked up and seen a Hot Air Balloon flying overhead and not just thought whet a beautiful sight it was, and how fantastic it would be to be up there flying in it. What we can be sure of is that you will have noticed the corporate colours and logo displayed upon it. It may also be of a defined shape; we have all seen beer bottles, fairy castles, hot dogs, rocket ships, to name but a few and because we have our own design specialists, these are amongst some that we can accommodate amongst many others.

Hot Air Balloons attract attention and at balloon festivals for instance, crowds of up to 60,000 can watch the launch of the balloons, think what publicity that alone can give and of course there are many more thousands that see it flying overhead. Aviation publicity is amongst the most powerful that can be used and it has been shown that the cost is repaid many times over, the balloon will of course be used many times, adding to the corporate image that it is important to your company.

Your own balloon has other important uses as well, rewarding existing customers, hard working staff, or enticing new customers to continue to trade with you. Your balloon will go on working for you and giving pleasure to you, your staff and customers, for a long time ahead.

Balloon Festivals

If you want to join in the excitement of Hot Air Balloons, we suggest that you attend a Hot Air Balloon Festival; there will be one near you at some time during the year. These balloon festivals take place most of the year, but normally the majority will be in the spring through to the autumn, when both weather conditions and light are at their best. Major events will attract upwards of a hundred balloonists and they make a spectacular sight, smaller events may only attract a dozen or so, but the thrill of seeing the preparation and launch is just as exciting and may be more so, as it is usually possible to get closer to the balloons.

To enjoy the festival we suggest that you take a camera, some comfortable flat shoes and warm clothing, important as the launch times can be from as early as 6am. When available buy a programme and learn something about the different balloons, importantly watch the weather forecast because if there are gales or thunder and lightning go to the pictures, they will not be flying!

Bring all the family as Balloon Festivals usually coincide with another event, and there will be exhibitions and maybe even a barbeque! When you have watched the balloonist fly to the sky, give your family a teat and join us at Balloons over Britain for a flight, you will be surprised how inexpensive it can be for a family package.

Flying from your locality

We are most often asked, do you fly from my town or locality?

The simple answer is that Balloons over Britain launch their balloon flights from the whole country but that does not necessarily mean that it is from the field down the road. Because if their very nature, balloons are controlled by the wind and cannot be steered around like an aeroplane, this is why these are a serene form of pastime and so popular.

The operator in any given area must choose the launch site that takes into account the conditions of the day; he has to avoid obvious restrictions for instance air traffic control zones, or avoid landing in areas that are unsuitable. Because conditions do vary from day to day, you operator may have mere than one launch site and you will be advised on the day you are to fly which is the one chosen.

To check where you can take part in your thrill of a lifetime flight in a Hot Air Balloon, first contact us and say Balloons over Britain and we will put you in touch with the operator in your area.

Why does a Hot Air Balloon fly?

You may have wondered how the Hot Air Balloons that are operated throughout the country by Balloons over Britain, get off the ground and take you on your way before descending about an hour later.

The balloon consists of a basket in which the pilot and his passengers ride, together with propane cylinders, essential if we are to get off the ground. The propane fuels the burner which is controlled by the fully qualified pilot and it is this that is the secret to the successful launch. Basically we know that hot air rises and it is this hot air that is produced by the propane gas burners, are caught in the envelope of the balloon to move it off the ground and into the air. Your pilot keeps firing the burner to ensure that the balloon moves in a stable manner, for the continuation of the flight.

Hot Air Balloon flying is intrinsically safe and you will be unlikely to worry how and why the balloon is flying, because we are absolutely sure that you will be totally engrossed with your flying experience, whether this is your first flight, or you are one of the many that return again and again.

Christmas Gift Vouchers

You are anxious to give your loved one a special gift for Christmas and have heard that a flight in a Hot Air Balloon is truly an experience of a lifetime, something that comes into the top ten of things people most want to do, but the thought of flying at between 500 and 4000 feet in the winter does not seem particularly attractive.

You need not be in the slightest concerned, at Balloons over Britain we offer gift vouchers that make an excellent ‘Open Dated’ present, which can be used in the coming spring. Hot Air Balloon flying usually takes place from mid March to the end of October and flights are available in the mornings and evenings at the weekends and you can occasionally book a flight in the mornings during the week, which normally take place in the evenings. We have a variety of vouchers on offer and suggest that you contact us for information on these and also the local area where the flight can take place.

About your balloon flight

Congratulations, you are going to take part in the thriller a lifetime and it something that we know you will remember and tell your friends about for a long time to come. Can we just say that your balloon flight is an experience that should not be rushed and you should prepare yourself for the big day in advance. Although the actual flight time will be around an hour in length, you will be invited to take part in pre flight preparation, inflating the balloon and deflating it at the end of the flight, this is all part of the experience of hot air ballooning and therefore, we suggest that you allow a minimum of four hours for the whole experience.

You should arrive at your arranged meeting point on time and importantly if you are flying with friends, make sure that they are well organised in advance of the day, the launch point may not be at the same place and we may have to transport you to an alternative launch site than the one arranged perhaps due to a change in weather conditions. At the end of your flight you and your friends will be transported back to the original arranged meeting point and we feel sure that you will want to celebrate and tell others of your wonderful day out.

Balloonists’ do not recognise age limits

At Balloons over Britain one of the most frequently asked questions (FAQ) is, “are there age limits to anyone who would like to experience the thrill of a lifetime, and take a trip in a Hot Air Balloon”? Well we can tell you that the answer to this is an emphatic no, so let us look at some of the facts.

We are aware of one passenger who was just seven years old; there may have been others that were younger. Our records show that the majority of passengers were bought a flight as a birthday present for their 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th birthday, what a lovely gift as well. Many of our passengers were over the age of seventy years and the oldest one that we took on a never to be forgotten Hot Air Balloon trip, was 100years and 4 days of age! No one should worry about their age as we will look after them however old or young they may be and they will enjoy an experience that they will talk about for a long time. Just about anyone can enjoy a flight, firstly contact us and we will take care of the arrangements and of course you.

The Power of Corporate Branding

Having your corporate logo image or colours on a hot air balloon is one of the most cost effective ways of reaching thousands of potential customers, far lower than other forms of media advertising, not just the many who may see the balloon, but the extensive coverage that it can attract to editorial and television. We know that the launch or landing of a Hot Air Balloon will always attract a big audience and this could be many thousands, particularly if it is a major event or festival and this does not include the millions that may see it on a television report.

Hot Air Balloon Flights consistently fall into the top ten of things people most want to do and your company could play a big part in this innovative, attention grabbing, leisure activity. Not only will you gain in publicity, but you can use this as tool for a really different and effective entertaining medium for clients, staff and maybe journalists can be passengers in your balloon telling others of their experience, giving your company publicity which is the best in the world.

We at Balloons over Britain are pre-eminent in our field and we can offer our own design teams who will make a balloon to your company’s special shape and with our wealth of experience we can cater for most designs which will make your company the centre of attention. If you want to find new customers, thank existing ones, or offer incentives to your staff, firstly contact us and without obligation, we will discuss with you your requirements for corporate branding and help you on your way to adding to your sales potential.
